This elegant design of a Kingfisher silently perching on pampas with the leaf tips trailing in the stream, is an exquisite little work of art! The distinctive dagger-like bill and delicate feathers have been sculpted with extraordinary detail by sculptor Dean Kendrick. This kingfisher bronze is available in an edition of 250 pieces. Presented in an handsome gift box complete with a limited edition certificate of authenticity and polishing cloth. The bronze is engraved with the sculptor’s signature and limited edition number, matching the certificate enclosed. Height: 9.4cm x Width: 6cm x Depth: 4.2cm Weight: 95g. This charming kingfisher is made in solid foundry bronze using the ancient method of lost wax casting. The design finished by the art of patination where various acids are applied to the surface of the bronze and heat applied to create a deep rich brown patina. Then bronze is sealed with a special wax which further enhances the colour and protects the bronze for years to come.
